Gates is the former chief executive and current chairman of Microsoft, the worlds largest personal computer software company. While at Harvard, Gates developed a version of the computer programming language, BASIC, for the firt microcomputer. Guided by a belief that the computer will be a common tool in the home and office, Gates left Harvard to bdevote his energies to Microsoft, the company he had begun in 1975 with his childhhod friend Paul Allen. Under Gates' Leadership, Microsoft's mission has been to continually advance and improve software technology to make it easier, more cost-effective and more enjoyable for people to use.--Kanopy.
